St. Luke's Youth Group has been to two sites run by Catholic Heart WorkCamp in Pennsylvania and Kansas, and both times everyone agreed it was a terrific experience at CHWC, as our group bonded while serving a heart-warming population in rural America.
So this year we're planning to visit another CHWC site in the tiny town of Calmar (pop. 935) in the northeastern corner of Iowa for our next trip the week of July 7-12. Iowa is the site of the nation's first voting for our next Presidential candidates ... and who knows, we might even run into a front-runner or two out on the campaign! It's also not far from the famed Field of Dreams, the movie that paired baseball with Iowa just as "Hoosiers" did basketball with Indiana. Who knows, we might fit in a few innings of baseball, too!
The annual Service Trip is open to all teens who are in or entering high school by the next fall. It's a chance to work, ponder, dance, build, pray, make friends, heal, paint, sing, encounter, hammer, celebrate, repair, play, laugh, and be transformed. Download the forms below for more details.

As always, we are most grateful for the support of St. Luke parishioners with their prayers and contributions through our "Stock Sale" donation drives. This is a tremendous investment in the youth of our parish and the future of our Church!
These summer trips allow high school-age teens, college students, and adult leaders from St. Luke Parish to live out their faith in a very special way by taking part in a week-long working tour of areas deeply affected by isolation, neglect, and poverty. These trips are an important tradition at St. Luke, and we are happy we can provide them as part of our Youth Ministry Program.
Whether we spend a week remodeling a house, making sandwiches, or growing relationships, we all take part in building the Kingdom of God here on earth. Participants commit to a week of physical labor, simple community living, prayer, and reflection on their experiences.
