The No-Electronics Challenge

Challengers promise to refrain for using any electronics during the course of the week, including: DVD players (in car and otherwise), i-pods, and video games.  Challengers will ONLY use their cell-phones to call parents and check-in on a limited basis.  NO text messaging for the week.  This is your chance to unplug and spend some time with the people around you.

The No-Extra-Spending Challenge

Challengers promise to refrain from purchasing extra things during their service week.  Yes, you need to eat lunch on the trip to your site (please do!), but do you really need to buy a candy bar or ice cream at all our gas station stops?  This is your chance to be in solidarity with people who do not have extra money to spend.

The Beautiful/Handsome-Me Challenge

Challengers promise to refrain from using beauty (or manly) products like hair tools, hair products, cologne, perfume, or make-up.  This is your chance to let go of worldly standards and show how beautiful or handsome God has truly made you.

The Be-Not-Afraid Challenge

Challengers promise to share their experiences and thoughts honestly and without fear.  When everyone signed-up for these trips, you promised to take part in group reflections.  This is your chance to commit to sharing the awesome person that is you with the rest of the group and sharing your experience with friends and family upon your return.  This is your chance to spread the Good News!
