Reconciliation

Reconciliation is the opportunity for individuals to respond to God's ongoing invitation to conversion in one's community of faith.  Available after each weekday morning Mass and by appointment in the rectory any time.

Preparation for First Reconcilliation

Determining the age at which a child should begin regular reception of this sacrament is primarily the responsibility of the parents.  The requirement for reception of this sacrament is that the child understands what it means to commit grave or mortal sin, and what it means to be forgiven.

In the St. Luke Religious Education Program, preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation ordinarily will take place when the child is in the second grade. Formal preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation takes place as a part of the Religious Education Program, and one prior year of religious education is required.  The Sacrament is celebrated with those children who have been preparing, on the first two Saturdays in December.

For more information about preparation for this sacrament, call our Director of Religious Education, Sr. Colleen Nolan, O.P., at 708-771-5959.
