Archdiocesan News Minimize

How Will "Renew My Church" Change Chicago-Area Parishes?

Archbishop Cupich on WTTW's Chicago Tonight program. The Archdiocese of Chicago is almost ready to move into the next phase of the "Renew My Church" initiative. Archdiocesan planners have anaylyzed  surveys, consulted parish leaders, and looked at options for helping our parishes cope with a future with fewer priests, changing demographics, and the need for parishes to pool resources and work together to be better evangelizers of the Good News. Archbishop Cupich elaborated on his view of the whole initiative in an interview with WTTW's Chicago Tonight host Phil Ponce.

On behalf of the entire staff, we thank you for all the prayers and financial contributions you provide so that our parish can be present and serving you.

What's Happening?

  Wild Goose

The Wild Goose is coming
to St. Luke's on April 1!

Come "Encounter the Wild Goose," an Irish expression for the unbridled experience of the Holy Spirit, at St. Luke Church on April 1. Two dynamic speakers, Dr. Mark Nimo, PhD. and Rev. Bob Miller, will lead this day of music, prayer, instruction and spiritual renewal from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is no fee, but RSVPs are requested. Click here for the full program and registration info. Come hear the Lord with greater clarity, be stirred with the power and grace of the Spirit in your daily life, and center your world around Him!

Lenten series
on Church leaders

Why did the Church pivot one way or another through the centuries? St. Luke will be exploring that question using Bishop Robert Barron's Catholicism: The Pivotal Players video series each Tuesday  through April 18 in St. Luke School's Waldron Hall (lower level). Each week features a new pivotal leader from St. Francis of Assisi to Michelangelo. There's no charge and no advance reading required. Come watch the video and join the ensuing discussion.

What Do Muslims
Really Believe?

The St. Luke Peace & Justice Committee has organized three nights of discussion on the book Who Speaks for Islam?, which looks at the broad spectrum of thought in the Islamic religion. The last meeting will take place on Monday, April 3. For more info and the locations, call the Parish Office at 708-771-8250.
