St. Luke's Sapphire & Gold Gala logo

St. Luke’s biggest fund-raiser and social event of the year — our 2017 Sapphire & Gold Dinner Dance & Auction is almost upon us!

This year we are very pleased to be honoring Doug and Kathy Kurtenbach and their family for their 30-plus years of contributions to the St. Luke community and their help in making St. Luke School a premier source of Catholic education in the River Forest-Oak Park community. The event takes place this Saturday, February 25, at the Oak Park Country Club, 2001 Thatcher Avenue in River Grove. It’s a great time for parents, teachers, alums, and friends to come together to support the school and its standards of excellence.

But even if you cannot attend the gala event, you're still invited to join in the excitement through the Silent Auction. There are lots of fantastic items up for bidding: Hamilton tickets, floor tickets to U2 at Soldier Field, Wrigleyville rooftop tickets for Billy Joel, trips to Cabo and Steamboat, tickets to Notre Dame at Stanford and to Cubs vs Mets in NYC, White Sox jersey signed by Melky Cabrera. The auction is running online now. To register for the auction, send an email to Sheila Price, St. Luke’s Director of Stewardship and Development, at

For questions on any part of the Dinner Dance, contact Sheila Price at 708-435-8927 or

How Will "Renew My Church" Change Chicago-Area Parishes?

Archbishop Cupich on WTTW's Chicago Tonight program. The Archdiocese of Chicago is almost ready to move into the next phase of the "Renew My Church" initiative. Archdiocesan planners have anaylyzed  surveys, consulted parish leaders, and looked at options for helping our parishes cope with a future with fewer priests, changing demographics, and the need for parishes to pool resources and work together to be better evangelizers of the Good News. Archbishop Cupich elaborated on his view of the whole initiative in an interview with WTTW's Chicago Tonight host Phil Ponce.
