Archdiocesan News Minimize

How Will "Renew My Church" Change Chicago-Area Parishes?

Archbishop Cupich on WTTW's Chicago Tonight program. The Archdiocese of Chicago is almost ready to move into the next phase of the "Renew My Church" initiative. Archdiocesan planners have anaylyzed  surveys, consulted parish leaders, and looked at options for helping our parishes cope with a future with fewer priests, changing demographics, and the need for parishes to pool resources and work together to be better evangelizers of the Good News. Archbishop Cupich elaborated on his view of the whole initiative in an interview with WTTW's Chicago Tonight host Phil Ponce.

GiveCentral offers an easy, convenient way to support St. Luke Parish

Online giving is a safe, convenient, and easy way to make gifts whether it's for your weekly Sunday offering or a one-time gift, such as for special national collections. Once you sign up, you will be able to manage your giving preferences at any time, and you won't have to worry about writing a check or carrying cash to church each week. You can manage it anywhere you have an internet connection 24/7.

Online giving helps St. Luke, too, by giving us a predictable cash flow that we can plan on and by ensuring that a gift is received even when bad weather, illness or travel prevent Mass attendance. Please, if you haven't already, sign up today by visiting our secure GiveCentral page here.

On behalf of the entire staff, we thank you for all the prayers and financial contributions you provide so that our parish can be present and serving you.

What's Happening?

Newcomers welcome
to Stitching Group

The Amen Stitching Group will gather for their monthly meeting this Friday, April 28, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm in the Hospitality House. It's a great opportunity to come and share ideas and learn techniques from each other, and no pre-registration is needed. Those with embroidery skills are especially needed to help sew baptismal gowns that will be given to families with new babies throughout the year.

First Communion
Masses This Saturday

St. Luke will have two special Masses for our children who will be receiving their First Holy Communion this Saturday, April 29. The 76 First Communicants have been divided into two groups -- one will receive the sacrament at the 10:30 am Mass and the other at the 1:00 pm Mass. All are invited to join our joyful celebration.

Confirmation Mass
Next Tuesday

Bishop George J. Rassas will be here Tuesday, May 2, for the Confirmation of our 8th graders. The Mass will start at 7:00 pm. Please keep our students and their families your prayers as they reach this important sacrament in their faith life.
